8/24/26 6 years ago, we took in a beagle who had a rough time of it. He ended up at a shelter 3 times! His offense? He was a beagle who loved food—imagine that—and kept encountering children, who could not respect his space.
He came into our rescue at age six. We named him Scotch. He found a home rather quickly and became Eddie. He lived the next six years happily in a home that understood him and gave him a family. He also had a beagle sister. Eddie was doing well, but this past year he developed diabetes and cataracts, which was affecting his vision. What wasn’t expected, however, was an unfortunate situation. His mom came home from work and found Eddie had passed. We are sincerely sorry for her loss. It is never easy, and when it is a shock and you don’t have answers, it can sometimes hit harder. We are grateful for the life she gave Eddie. We wish them our sincere condolences. Rest easy, Eddie.
