Thank You For Your Interest In Adopting A Beagle Through Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation!
Southern NV Beagle Rescue Foundation is a Nevada 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, no-kill and an all-volunteer organization dedicated to Beagle rescue. We provide rescue, education and referral services for Beagles from area shelters and Beagles from homes that can no longer keep their dog. We work with both purebred Beagles and Beagle mixes.
Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation (SNBRF) does not have a shelter; all of our dogs are fostered in volunteer homes or kept in their current home until a new home is found. SNBRF adoption fees range from $100 to $650 depending on the age, health, and adoptability of the dog.
The adoption fees help pay for the healthcare, spay/neuter, and vaccinations. The fee does not necessarily cover SNBRF's cost to prepare the dog ready for adoption. We rely on donations to cover the rest.
Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation is not a source for Beagle puppies. Young healthy puppies are not usually turned into rescue. Most of our rescue dogs are 1 to 8 years old and desperate for a loving home to care for them forever. If you are interested in a puppy or if we do not find an immediate match for you from our available dogs, we can put you on our waiting list after we receive your completed application and have also completed your required home visit. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A PUPPY FROM A PET SHOP; these dogs are bred in out-of-state puppy mills in horrific conditions, and they can have serious health problems. People who purchase puppies from pet shops and casual back-yard breeders support an industry that is interested only in profit, not the health or well being of the animals.
If you are interested in adopting a Beagle, please fill out and submit the application below. Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation volunteers cannot answer detailed questions about currently available dogs until your application, and home visit has been completed and approved.
The length of time from application through adoption can take up to 3-4 weeks. The more open you are to age, color, gender, physical condition and Beagle mixes, the greater the likelihood of us finding a match for you. We are an all-volunteer organization. Our priority is to bring needy Beagles into a foster home as quickly as possible and provide them the care they need. A handful of volunteers handle intake and fostering activities, as well as adoptions, home visits, website updates, voicemail and email checking, public outreach, fundraising, events and other critical administrative tasks. Our volunteers also have jobs, families, and pets of their own to tend to. We thank you for your patience and understanding. The adoption process will involve:
- Review of your application
- A home visit
- Approval of your application and home visit
- Discussion on which Beagle may be a good match for your family
- Adoption
(The home visit is not to check for housekeeping but is meant to ensure that your home is compatible with a Beagle’s lifestyle. We will check for indoor living and sleeping arrangements, fencing, toilet and feeding arrangements, etc.)
We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back.
If you are out of the area, once your home visit is completed and you are approved to adopt, you are expected to be here between 7-10 days. For each day after, starting on the 11th day, a boarding fee will apply.
Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years therefore beagles under 3 years of age will not be adopted to anyone over the age of 62.
